Treatments
for Heart Disease - Ayurveda
Meditation
Meditation is one of the best ways to relax, dissolve stress, and allow the body to heal. It is often the first-line treatment of heart disease in Ayurveda. It calms the mind, nerves and emotions. An extended period of rest or reduced activity, both physical and mental, is recommended. As far as possible try to avoid stress, emotional worries and anxiety. Meditation allows us to get back in touch with our real hearts. Use it to examine/understand what you really want to do in life. Give up anger, aggression and assertion. Do 10 to 20 minutes of meditation twice a day.
Yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (Pranayama) provide synergistic benefits. Avoid heavy exercise. Minimize unwanted travel. Do not try to "force" meditation. You should enjoy it rather than doing it for doing sake that can result in additional stress.
