BRAND: Parlodel Bromocriptine is an ergot alkaloid dopamine receptor agonist. It is a strong D2 receptor agonist and a weak DI receptor antagonist. It stimulates both pre- and post-synaptic receptors. Potential side effects include nausea, vomiting, orthostatic hypotension, confusion, hallucinations, anorexia, and erythromelaigia, a painful, reddish discoloration of the skin.
