The following herbs and herbal
combinations are useful for low blood pressure:
American and Asiatic ginseng:
This can be used as a tea or in the form
of powder dissolved in water.
As a Tea: Place one half teaspoon of shredded root in one cup of water. Bring to boil for one and one half minutes. Let stand twenty minutes. Drink once or twice daily.
As a Powder: Mix one gram (3/100 oz.) pulverized root in two or three tablespoons of water. Take two or three times daily.
In case of stress and nervous exhaustion, use the following nervine tonics:
Oats (Avena sativa)
Kola (Cola vera)
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Chinese or Oriental Herbs
Ginseng and Astragalus Combination (Pu-Chung-I-Chi-Tang):
This formula is often prescribed for those with tendency towards anemia, fatigue, and gastric disorders.
