Welcome
to Bioterrorism Infocenter in Holisticonline.com!
The events following the
September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the USA and the subsequent
unleashing of the anthrax have kept us anxious and fearful. For many,
this added to the already present anxieties and panics.
Due
to the requests of many of our customers, we are making available the
information in this infocenter on a work-in-process basis. We will be
adding to this constantly. Look for information about small pox and
cholera in the near future as many experts contend that we may be very
vulnerable to the attack by them.
Mind
body approaches receive added significance in the present environment.
Anxiety, fear and worry are the worst attackers of our immune system. It
makes us vulnerable to potential attacks. Add to this, the fact that
many are worried about their jobs and the uncertain future, the stress
and the hit on the immune system become more significant. Learning to
relax and managing stress is more important now than ever. We provide
all the tools for you to accomplish that.
Many serious and deadly infections begin with similar, common symptoms - fever, diarrhea, and flulike respiratory problems. That makes an early and accurate diagnosis difficult-and often delays appropriate treatment.
Obviously, none of us can go through life living in a microbe- free bubble. Nor is it realistic to assume that medicine will develop antibiotics or immunizations effective against all of these microorganisms. So, how can you protect yourself when you have no idea when or where you're going to be accosted by a
supergerm?
We believe that a person's first line of defense is his or her own immune system. A strong immune system is like a large number of watchful sentries and a powerful army positioned to counterattack bacteria, viruses, and parasites. With optimal immunity, you may still become infected-but the symptoms will probably be less severe and recovery much faster.
